About Luck:

Luck is a 2022 computer-animated fantasy comedy directed by Peggy Holmes, co-directed by Javier Abad and written by Keel Murray who starred alongside Rebecca Carrasco based on an original concept written by Juan Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger with De Dios and Julian Romero. Produced by Skydance.

Animation, the film features the voices of Eva Noblezada, Simon Pegg, Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg,Flula Borg, Lil Ril Howery, Colin O’Donoghue and John Ratzenberger.

Sam Greenfield is a clumsy, orphaned young woman whose life has been plagued by constant unhappiness and who was recently forced to move out of her foster home, much to the dismay of her younger friend Hazel, who is soon looking forward to adoption.

Luck premiered in Madrid on August 2, 2022 and was released on Apple TV+ and in select theaters in the United States on August 5, 2022. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for the voice acting and animation but criticism for its world-building and plot.

The next day, Sam remarks that the money has greatly improved his luck. However, she accidentally loses money by flushing it down the toilet.

While mourning her mistake, Sam confronts Cat again and tells him what happened, which led to Cat scolding her for losing money.

One night after sharing a panini with a black cat, she is given a penny to give to a collection of other lucky items to help Hazel adopt.

Shocked, Sam follows the cat through a portal to the Land of Destiny, where leper-like creatures create happiness for the people of Earth.

The cat, named Bob, tells Sam that he needs money for the trip and will be banished if it is found out that he has lost it.
