About Bhool Mimi movie:

Mimi is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. Remake of Marathi film Mala Aai Whychi! Starring Kriti Sanon in the lead role from 2011, who chooses to be a surrogate mother to an exotic couple.

Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, Evelyn Edwards and Aidan Whiteock appear in supporting roles.

Bhattacharya; Camera and editing were done by Akash Agarwal and Manish Pradhan respectively, the latter of whom also edited Utekar’s Luka Chuppi (2019), which also starred Sanon.

Mimi was announced in August 2019 and filming began in October 2019, with filming in Rajasthan and Mumbai. The film music and soundtrack were composed by AR Rahman, lyrics are by Amitabh

The music, humour, emotional weight and performances of the cast were praised, especially Sanon, Tripathi, Tamhankar and Edwards. Additionally, many critics said it was Sanon’s best career performance to date, which proved to be a success for him.

However, the film was released on July 26, 2021, on all platforms, four days before it was accidentally released by GeoCinema and went to torrent sites. It received extremely positive reviews from critics, including direction, story, screenplay.

After not having a theatrical release due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mimi was later scheduled for a digital release on the streaming services Netflix and JioCinema on July 30, 2021.

Mimi is introduced by Bhanu to an American couple as a surrogate in exchange for Rs 2 million. She decides to have the baby even when they change their mind and tells her parent that Bhanu is the father.
