About Ram Setu movie:

Movie stars Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrat Bharucha and Satya Deo follow an archaeologist investigating the nature of Rama Setu, also known as Adam’s Bridge.

Ram Setu (translated Ram’s Bridge) is a 2022 Indian Hindi language action adventure film directed by Abhishek Sharma.

The film was announced in November 2020, with filming starting on March 30, 2021 in Mumbai. Production has faced setbacks and delays during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filming resumed in October 2021 and took place in Ooty, Daman and Diu and around Mumbai in January 2022.

The film grossed Rs 93 crore at the worldwide box office and failed to recoup its budget of Rs 150 crore.
The film begins with ASI archaeologist Dr.

Ram Setu was released theatrically on October 25, 2022, during the Diwali festival and opened to negative reviews from critics.

Aryan Kulshreshtha, an unbeliever who doubts the general public opinion that Ram Setu is a man-made structure, and thus the historical validity of the Ramayana.

He is later hired by Indrakant (a businessman seeking financial gain from the outcome) to prove that Ram Setu is just a natural phenomenon.

There, they learn of an ancient cave connected to the bridge, but are soon attacked by Indrakant’s men, who have kidnapped Aryan’s wife, Professor Gayatri Kulshrestha.

However, upon scientific investigation, he finds that the structure was actually man-made, suggesting that Rama was a historical figure.

To gather more evidence of Rama’s existence, Aryan, with the help of Dr. Sandra, an environmentalist, and AP, a local Lankan guide, to Sri Lanka.

Direction of the movie:

The film is co-produced by Akshay Kumar’s mother Aruna Bhatia and Vikram Malhotra under production companies Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, Lyca Productions and Amazon Prime Video. This is Amazon’s first Bollywood production in India.

According to a report in The Financial Express, director Abhishek Sharma has been attempting to conspire since 2007 when he learned of a Ram Setu-related trial.

Aruna Bhatia passed away in September 2021. Chandraprakash Dwivedi was signed as creative producer. Kumar described the film as “a bridge between past, present and future generations”.

Major underwater action sequences, sea shots and the climax were to be shot in Sri Lanka. This was impossible due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka, making it difficult for the film crew to travel under quarantine restrictions.

Co-producer Vikram Malhotra, CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, described the film as a “story built on fact, science and historical heritage.”

The film crew consulted the book Dating the Era of Lord Rama (2004) and experts in archeology and other fields.
Earlier reports suggested filming would resume in September 2021, however it only resumed with the schedule in Ooty in mid-October 2021.

Eventually, Daman and Diu were chosen for the shoot. Some scenes were also shot and sequences completed in Mumbai. Filming in Diu was completed on December 5. Kumar completed filming on January 31, 2022.

The filmmakers looked for alternative locations in Kerala and Gujarat. It was not selected due to rising COVID cases in Kerala.
