About Jungle Cruise movie:

Jungle Cruise is a 2021 American fantasy adventure film directed by Jaime Collet-Serra from a screenplay by Glenn Ficarra, John Riqua and Michael Green.

It tells the alternate history of the captain of a small river boat taking on a German expedition leading a scientist and his brother through a forest in search of the tree of life and cursing the conquerors.

It is based on Walt Disney’s theme park attraction of the same name. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti.

Was held in Hawaii and Georgia from May to September of this year. The score was composed by James Newton Howard.

Plans for a feature film based on the Jungle Cruise ride began in 2004. The project remained dormant as of 2011. The original version failed and Johnson joined in 2015.

The film received mixed reviews from film critics and was cut did poorly at the box office, grossing $221 million worldwide from a production budget of $200 million.

After a year of post-production and a further delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jungle Cruise is finally slated for a US release on July 30, 2021, simultaneously in theaters and digitally with Premiere access via Disney+.

In 1556, Don Aguirre led Spanish conquistadors to South America in search of the Lagrimus de Cristal.

A sequel is in development in which Johnson and Blunt will reprise their roles.

Tree, whose flowers cure disease, heal wounds, and remove curses. After many of the conquistadors died, the Puka Michuna tribe used the tree’s flowers to heal the sick survivors.
