Voluntary injury in committing robbery. –

If any person voluntarily causes hurt or attempts to commit robbery in the course of the commission, that person and any person who is jointly involved in the commission or attempts to commit such robbery shall be punishable with imprisonment for life (imprisonment for life) or severe imprisonment. shall be liable for a term which may extend to ten years and shall also be liable to fine.
