IPC Section 188. What is IPC section 188 and what punishment you get under this section.

Under the order, violators of the lockdown orders may pursue legal action under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, a provision of India’s Penal Code 1860, for failure to comply with such orders, which provides for a Section 188 punishment.

Definition:

 A temporary condition imposed by governmental authorities (as during the outbreak of an epidemic disease) in which people are required to stay in their homes and refrain from or limit activities outside the home involving public contact (such as dining out or attending large gatherings).

Crime Committed:

Violators of the lockdown orders may pursue legal action under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897

Punishment to be received:

Imprisonment which can extent to 6 months or either fine of minimum of 1000 rupees.

Such crimes are not considered to be very serious crimes, but doing so is a crime by law, so such crimes should not be encouraged. This effect human life and safety that is a serious crime under Indian penal court
