The A – Z of Educating Roversi

a-to-z-of

I’ve been lacking some blogging inspiration recently so I thought I’d have a go at a post like this so that I had something to post that wasn’t going to be pointless. I always like reading these about other bloggers so hopefully you’ll enjoy reading about me and my family!

The idea is to write a word that relates to yourself or your family, starting with A, going all the way through the alphabet to Z. The aim is to try not to go for the obvious choices but occasionally there is no avoiding this.

Here’s my attempt!

A is for Australia.

Our first holiday abroad as a family. Little L was just over 2 years old and totally surprised us with how good he was on the 26 hours travelling time. You can read about our experience flying with a toddler, our time with friends, in Cairns and Sydney on the blog.

B is for Birthday.

Our son was born on my 30th birthday so we share that day…which basically means that I don’t get much of a birthday. I don’t mind though 🙂

C is for Cat.

We have one. Her name is Coco. She’s a pain in the a**e. You can read more about her
here.14088589_922078181230613_8375801393809671953_n

D is for Disney.

I’m a huge Disney fan and I’ve been building up our collection of DVD’s for a while. Luckily my husband also enjoys them and Little L is being educated on the variety of. Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks. Ariel is my Ultimate Disney Princes.

E is for Eating

Something all three of us enjoy, especially eating out. Unfortunately my body doesn’t like what I eat when I go out so I have to be careful if I want to lose weight! My husband, on the other hand, as a staple diet of sandwiches and coleslaw. Little L isn’t fussy, prefers fruit to veg and goes through phases of being a bottomless pit on some days and eating like a bird on others.

F is for Football.

I’ve always liked football as I was took to games with my step dad and brother as a child however when I went to university I started following Huddersfield Town and began going to see them with my ex-boyfriend. I’ve continued to follow them and I’m currently working on turning Little L into a Town Terrier. I can’t wait until he’s old enough to go to the games so we can watch them live again.

G is for Goals

I’ve never been one for setting myself goals. The odd New Years resolution that I forget about after three weeks but that’s it. Blogging has helped me create goals for myself which I really like. Something to work towards.

H is for Home.

We bought our forever home in July 2015. I love its open plan downstairs and the playroom is a godsend. I just wish it was bigger (as L’s toy collection grows!). We’re working our way through the rooms: the master bedroom and L’s comic book inspired room is done, as is my dressing room. Garden is next on the list!

I is for Italian.

Our surname is Italian. My father in law is Italian and owns a restaurant in Leeds which my husband managers. Go visit it sometime 🙂

J is for Journaling.

I’ve just started my first Bullet Journal! I’m so excited about it. I love being creative and have a love of stationery so it’s a perfect combination. I just need to find time between being a wife, mother, teacher and blogger to do it!

K is for Kids

From my son, aged 2.5, to my nieces and nephews, to the students I teach, my life is FULL of kids. I like it…it makes the moments of peace even more amazing!

L is for Leeds.

My hubbys hometown and where we met one weekend in 2009. It’s also where we both work: him in he centre and me in South Leeds.

M is for Movies

My husband and I are a little like chalk and cheese but one thing we have in common is our love of films. Little L is starting to like watching Disney films too which makes me very happy!

N is for Nox

A Harry Potter spell. A love the magical world of Potter, Granger, Weasley and co. I’ve read all the books a couple of times and enjoy the films countless times, although I’m finding that lately I’m forgetting details so I need to get reading again…I’m waiting until L is old enough for us to read them together before bed.

O is for Organised

Something I’d like to think I am but I know full well I could be more. I’m a little lazy at times, for example, I should sort out bags out the night before instead of rushing around on a morning. However I do usually get L’s clothes out!

P is for Pugs!

I love pugs. They make me smile. Every one I meet seems to have a proper personality. The love began when I watched Men In Black as a kid and I loved Frank. I have asked for one for my 40th birthday…which is a good few years off yet, so gives the husband forewarning.

th

Q is for Quality Time

As a family. As a couple. We were thinking about trying for another child at the beginning of 2017 but we’ve decided to wait a little to focus on us as a couple. We get so little time together as it is that we felt it was important to try and focus on that for a while. We’re enjoying nights in watching some new films, the odd date night and taking time to talk.

R is for Robbie Williams

Our family has to put up with my obsession. I’ve loved him since the beginnings of Take That. I don’t miss a tour and I queue early to get to the front. Tickets for June 2017 are sorted, as is a hotel the night before and night after…just in case I get lucky with Robbie (jokes…kinda…not really). It’s on my Bucket List to meet him one day!

S is for Sleep.

What family A-Z wouldn’t have sleep in it? Whether you want more or just enjoy it! Luckily, all the Roversi’s love their sleep. It took Little L time to realise the wonder of sleep but now he does a good 11/12 hours. Although Mummy and Daddy still don’t like being woken at 7am, but realise it could be worse.

T is for Teacher.

I’ve been a drama teacher since September 2007 (2006 if you including my training year!). I enjoy it, I just wish it didn’t take up so much extra time. If i could teach my lessons and do the extra curricular activities, I’d be happy. Unfortunately, as we all know, there’s a lot of paperwork that comes with being a teacher but I worked hard to get here and I’m doing the best I can.

U is for University

Three years studying Drama and Theatre Studies at Huddersfield University. Lots of fun, great friends and a little bit of work 🙊

V is for Volkswagen.

Growing up with a sister who loved campervans, beetles and all things VDub definitely rubbed off on me. I said I’d buy myself a VW Beetle as soon as I qualified as a teacher, which I did. My favourite was the 2litre VW Beetle Sport in White (newest shape). It was beautiful but the three door didn’t do anything for my back when lugging a Baby L in and out so we swapped for a 5door Golf which we have now. I say we…me. It’s rare I let Mr R drive it!

W is for Wrenthorpe in Wakefield – two W’s.

Wrenthorpe is the village in which I grew up and now we are lucky enough to live there, bringing our son up. I have lived in Wakefield all my life, apart from the few years I was away at uni. It has its flaws but it’s home.

X is for X Factor.

A guilty pleasure! That and any other trashy Saturday night TV: Strictly, Let It Shine, The Voice, Take Me Out…i love nothing more than these programmes, my PJs and a Chinese on a Saturday night.

Y is for Yankee Candle

I struggled to find a word for Y. I’ve just started getting back into candles, now Little L can understand that he’s not allowed to touch them. I love the Yankee Candles scents – especially the vanilla and cotton sheets ones. Fresh smells that surround me and help me relax. Candle light is so calming too, isn’t it?

Z – Zoo.

One of our favourite places to go as a family is a zoo, whether it be venturing further afield to Chester Zoo or staying closer to home at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. I love the penguins and monkeys, I could watch them for hours!

Nice to find a fellow northern blogger! We’re in Sheffield so not far from you.

I love this style of post mainly because I’m nosey and like to know stuff about EVERYONE!

We also love the Yorkshire wildlife park! It’s so amazing to have somewhere so great that’s so close to home! I also think I need to invest in a bullet journal because I only keep hearing good things!

I have to confess to the same guilty pleasure with X Factor, I’m the only one in the house who watches it but I’m quite addicted. One of my kids would love to follow your path in drama, he is looking at taking Drama and theatre studies A level at college next year. #KCACOLS
