Mini Roversi and I were invited to check out our local Creation Station which specialises in arts and crafts for toddlers and pre-school children. A chance to have fun and get crafty without messing up Mummy and Daddy’s house? Perfect!
We arrived to find a group of little running around in cute little red suits which would protect their clothes from the mess – genius. Due to a crazy morning, the Roversi’s were running late so the only suits left were slightly too small – hilarious!Every session begins with a welcome song and focuses on a colour which for us was blue and we were told we’d be making Under the Sea pictures – how excited! Mini R loves fishes. The children were invited to pick out a blue item from the treasure chest and we had some fun with the parachute before heading over to the table to begin our arts and crafts. What I loved about the session was that it was planned in a series of short activities meaning the toddlers never got bored or lost interest as there was always something new for them to do. Mini Me loved all the sparkly bits and the glue however I’m sure his favourite bit was washing his hands in the water tubs! Typical! Red was the colour of choice for the second session and we managed to get there early so he got a suit that fitted! The kids began by being encouraged to draw long lines on a very long piece of paper. i didn’t get many lines out of my little man but he enjoyed drawing all the same. This week we made Chinese dragon and again, due to it being planned in short, snappy activities, Mini Roversi was engaged in the craftiness throughout. He got more involved with the glue this time and Mummy didn’t need to help as much – damn! 😉
We ended the sessions by sharing our work and singing a song, giving the artwork chance to dry a bit before we went home. The Roversi’s loved their time at Creation Station and thank Abbie for inviting them! Can’t wait to go back next week!
