Happy Halloween from Mini R!

My mum never let me go Trick Or Treating. She said it was pretty much begging and dangerous to go to strangers houses. As a ten year old I thought she was the most unfair mother in the world. As a 31 year old with a child of my own, I have to agree with her!

Problem is, I don’t want to be seen as the most unfair mother in the world. It’s going to happen. I know this and there is not much I can do to avoid it other than let him go, which isn’t going to happen!

Luckily, at the age of 16 months, Mini R has no clue about Halloween or Trick Or Treating. Even so we had a little party for him and three of his friends:

The monster, ghost, cat and pumpkin were all extremely cute, well behaved and had lots of fun. We had a buffet of sausage rolls, Pom bears, green pop corn, blueberries, grapes, cakes, buns and many more!

I like this version of Halloween. It doesn’t require me to stand in the freezing cold whilst my son visits houses which is how i predict the future Halloweens will be…only to houses I know or that have decorations though. #MumsRules

What a cute little party! Most of my kids are much older so they go trick or treating themselves, with strict rules of course, my youngest is two and did his first trick or treating to some neighbours who welcome the little ones visiting. We have actually had complaints over the years when the kids haven’t knocked at some houses because we went to a disco instead lol x

I know people that have been throwing a party for their kids and their friends for years. Its a lot of work, but it all the kids have ever known on Halloween so they don’t think they are missing anything

  5. I know people that throw a party for their kids and their friends every year. Its a lot of work, but the kids seem OK with it as an alternative. Most of them have been going since they were little so they don’t really think they are missing anything

Ah what a fab version of Halloween. I agree with you and your mum about Trick or Treating. I can’t imagine me letting my children do it when they are older either! What a sweet monster outfit too. Happy Halloween xx
