If you are a regular reader of my blog, firstly, thank you! Secondly, you’ll know that The Roversi’s moved into our forever home a few weeks ago and I’ve been writing posts on the different rooms and what we have planned for them. You can find the other posts here: Part One, Part Two and My Dream Bathroom.
As the title suggests, I’ve decided to write about the master bedroom tonight. Mainly because the fitted wardrobes were ripped out today and now I’m dreaming about my perfect bedroom. 🙂
This is what the bedroom looked like when we moved in…
Aren’t the green fitted wardrobes just delightful? It’s not the biggest of master bedrooms and with the added green wardrobes and en suite, it’s tiny…so they had to come out! I put an advert on a Facebook Wakefield Selling site and said they were free to anyone who could come take them down, and take them away, and a few weeks later they were gone!
This is what it looks like now. The 90’s style wallpaper was revealed behind the fitted wardrobes. It already feels so much bigger. We have plans to rip the en suite out, re jig it and re decorate it at the same time as redecorating the bedroom and, hopefully, it will be done by Christmas.
My Bedroom Wishes
1) A King Size bed…in particular a white, wooden frame king size bed. Like this one from Ikea.
Due to it not being the biggest of rooms, I want to keep it really simple and use the smallest bedroom (currently Mini R’s temporary room – see part two) as a dressing room type situation. I’d love the master bedroom to have a calm, romantic and cosy feel to it and I’ve been eyeing up this chair in Ikea…
…which I like would look lovely in a corner, maybe with a magazine rack beside it, where I could keep my Kindle and laptop too. It could be a cosy corner for reading and blogging. A quiet place away from the chaos….ha ha who am I kidding?! As if I’d get left alone. A girl can dream….
My favourite colour is grey and I’m thinking of a colour scheme of duck egg blue, white and grey. I’ve been browsing the Laura Ashley website for wallpapers, which is silly as I can’t afford to spend 25 quid or more per roll but I’m getting inspiration. This Oriental Garden Floral Wallpaper in Duck Egg Blue is really pretty and would be lovely teamed with a light grey carpet. More affordably I also like this Holden Opus Romance Dove wallpaper from Wilkinsons.
I’ll soften everything up with some scatter cushions, pictures and decorations.

So there you go, an insight into what I’m hoping to achieve when we decorate the master bedroom. Please comment with your own dreams of a master bedroom or, if you have seem anything lovely that would fit in with my room, let me know!
