MINI R’S CURRENT BEDROOM

If you’ve read any of my other posts (Our Forever Home – Part One or My Dream Bathroom) you’ll know that we recently moved into our forever home. We have been here ten days and I finally feel like the house is in some kind of order…until the next lot of stuff comes at the weekend thats been stored at my old house, where my best friend is now living.

The room I’m most looking forward to decorating is definitely our son’s room. Until he’s older we’ve moved him into the smallest room in the house as he doesn’t spend a lot of time in there apart from sleeping. It’s painted in a plain yellowy cream colour so, as you can see from the pictures above, matched his cot bedding and other decorations he had from his old room at our previous house. The only difference is we had one wall painted sage green in his old room. With him moving bedrooms within the year we didn’t see the point in doing a lot to this room. The room he’ll be moving into is one of the front bedrooms, currently dubbed “The Pink Room’ and you can see why!

THE CURTAINS DON’T MATCH AND THEY DON’T MEET IN THE MIDDLE – HA HA! AND THE BLACK WARDROBE IS LEFTOVER FROM THE LAST OWNERS BUT DOES US FOR STORAGE AT THE MOMENT.

OUR WARDROBES THAT DON’T FIT IN THE ROOM WE’RE STAYING IN AS IT’S A LOW CEILING!

Not much of a kids bedroom yet is it? My dream for it is for it to become a Comic Book Bedroom…not specifically any comic book but just the colours and art work, fabrics etc. I’ve been getting lots of ideas from the lovely Pinterest so please take a look at my Comic Book Bedroom pin board. In the last picture, to the left, is a box (or stage as i like to call it) which is where the stairs are. I really want to make this into a snug for Mini R by covering some foam with superhero fabric and adding cushions to make it cosy and comfy then use the Ikea Bekvam Spice Rack to make bookshelves on the walls. 96fbe3fdd3d36d1088210352a91e7bcaI’m going to paint the pink wall a royal blue and accessorise the room with red, yellow, green, black and blue. I would also love to put some Pop Art inspired art on his walls with phrases such as “Pow” and “Bang”! I LOVE this Captain America light but i’m not sure if I could make it!bb38187bf092b081643978d83d90905b

Watch this space to see if I actually manage to create what I’m imagining for our sons room. You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter.

  5. I love the idea of a comic book room – so fun! And you probably use wall stickers so that you could change them over time as he gets older. Look forward to seeing how it turns out! #HomeEtc
