#WickedWednesday – The Horrors of Early Morning Nappies!

Thought I’d share a little insight into one of the less than glamorous moments of my life…be warned, it’s not pretty!

The other morning I was woken by BR’s (Baby R) cries fairly early (4:30am)and on walking into his room I was hit with an overwhelming smell. I knew that there was no way he was going back to sleep until he had a clean nappy but, as most mums will understand, 4:30am is a scary time to start changing nappies as there is a chance they won’t go back to sleep! Unfortunately there was no avoiding it so I popped him on the changing mat and wiped his PJ’s off before casually itching my face…”Oh dear” I thought “What have I just wiped on my face?” BLEUGH! Caught between wanting a swift and smooth nappy change and desperately feeling like I needed to wash my whole body, not just my face! Obviously there had been a leakage, and that is all I will say on the matter. You’re probably wondering whether he went back to sleep? Kind of. I ended up with him in our bed, laid horizontal and whilst my husband slept soundly and my baby slept soundly, I lay awake. Typical.

Today I’ve had these pretties done and I’m slightly concerned how they will combine with a poonami. I’ve already had to put sudocrem  on my sons bum using his brush handle as a spatula so I don’t get cream down them, but they are pretty and they make me feel more human and less mumsy therefore they are worth it.
